The Pharmacology module emphasizes principals of pharmacology and asepsis, drug administration, infection control technique, HIV, hepatitis, and other bloodborne pathogens. Students will learn the Anatomy & Physiology of the organization of the body and the integumentary system, as well as essential medical terminology. Students check vital signs and differentiate between normal values for pediatric and adult patients. They obtain blood samples and prepare syringes and medications for administration. This module also emphasizes use of the Physician’s Desk Reference (PDR) and introduces the purpose of drug calculations in the medical office.
